Where are the 62,040,606 million of people that voted for Bush when the Army is looking for new recruits? The Army missed their quota in April by 42%! Certainly many "W" fans are within the enlistment age range. Are they chicken or unpatriotic?
You say you are a high school drop out ... no problem we'll get you one, You say you have a drug problem don't worry the recruiter will split the cost of a detox kit with you and you're in like Flint, says an Colorado Army recruiter. U.S. Army now has a recruitment special offer, a reduced tour of duty lasting just 15 months rather than the usual four years. But read the fine print because a recent court ruling ruled that "stop loss"/ tours can be extended for as long as needed.
Stop Loss legalized
Shorter Duty?

Recruiters don't play by the rules
Merriam Webster defines "rendition" as "to surrender." It seems like an appropriate word to describe the U.S. treatment of suspects. America has surrendered all pretense as a moral country.
U.S. says it does not torture people ... but they do contract it out. Today, Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif, said his country has received up to 70 suspects where they are questioned and tortured at our request. Egypt is only one of the places suspects are sent to and tortured for the U.S.
U.S. gives up on morality
Retirement safety net being torn apart "Until now, financial planners have likened retirement security to a three-legged stool: employee pensions, personal savings and Social Security." according to today's Washington Post article.
The stability of that "stool" is more unsure today than ever. Gas prices and inflation are eating away on one of the stool's legs while Bush is sawing away at another leg, Social Security.
The third leg is now ready to crumble. A federal bankruptcy judge declared that United Airlines didn't have to fulfill its pension obligations. Other companies now see one more way to reduce costs and allowed their companies to defer pensions to the government, who will only pay a fraction of what is due to pensioners.

Are Airline pensions history?
Who needs a pension anyway
White house starts its spin machine to support Bush's new best friend, President Karimov of Uzbekistan. Even though hundreds of pro-democracy rioters have been killed in recent riots by Karimov's troops.
America has aligned itself with President Karimov, a dictator who makes Saddam look like a evil-doer-wanna be. On Friday the White House claimed that 'terrorist groups' may have been involved in the Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan is one of the countries the U.S. has a base and sends prisoners to, for interrogation/tortured by their secret police. Karimov is reported to be one of the richest people in the whole area thanks in part to millions of dollars given to his country by the U.S.
According to a forensic report commissioned by the British embassy, in August two Uzbekistan prisoners were even boiled to death. The story and pictures are supplied in link (WARNING ... the pictures are graphic.)
Human rights not an issue for Bush ally
What's the deal with restricting trade with China?
Is U.S. trying to protect american textile manufacturers, stifle trade with China or just pressure Congress to pass CAFTA?
Whatever the real reason is, Bush has decided to limit increases on three items from China, cotton knit shirts, pants, and underwear to 7.5 per cent increases per year. China is a major competitor in the world's $360 billion dollar textile trade.
And there has been a 1500 percent increase in Chinese garment exports since the U.S. removed import restrictions early in January of 2005. Are the Chinese dumping or is WalMart overbuying? Maybe it is both.
China may, of course, reciprocate with its own trade restriction measures of american goods.
Film at 11 p.m. .. somewhere, but don't expect the story to bump Michael Jackson off the tube.
Are curbs aimed at Congress?
China gets pissed
Bush ally boils prisoners (not for squemish)
"People are dead because of what this son of a bitch said. How could he be credible now?" Pentagon spokesman Lawrence DiRita said. The May 9 that stated Guantanamo guards flushed a copy of the Koran down the toilet. In light of attacking prisoners with dogs, smearing fake menstrual blood on inmates and forcing prisoners to masturbate, it seems like a minor event, but the Koran is considered 'a literal word of God' and desecration of the Koran is punishable by death in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Riots have sprung up in Afganistan and Saudi Arabia this last week and a holy war against the United States may be declared. So, Newsweek is now recanting the story, but the incident is under investiogation.
Flushed with indignity
